
Orientation Program on Entrepreneurship in GST Profession at Sarada Vilas College, Mysuru
The team from EduElevate met the students of Sarada Vilas College, Mysore on 10th June 2022 and organised orientation program on Entrepreneurship in GST Profession.
Change is inevitable. Transition period is always tedious. So is the transition for students from their under graduate academics to career as entrepreneurs in GST domain. Students deserve time to unwind themselves to forge new relations with the real world and familiarize themselves with the new environment. Orientation program helps in making students of B.Com. and BBA feel comfortable and decide about their career from among many options available to them.
“Opportunities knock only once at your door,” goes a famous saying. Indeed, GST is that one knock in terms of opportunities for Indian graduates in Commerce and Management. GST in India is being termed as the country’s most comprehensive and biggest taxation-cum-economic reform since independence. GST is historical indirect tax reform in India. There has been a paradigm shift in the Indirect Tax structure with the GST rollout on July 1, 2017. It is really important to understand and assimilate the new GST in India, new compliances and the changes in processes in operating business.
To help graduate and post graduates in Commerce & Management with the ongoing changes and to make them GST experts, EduElevate has launched “Entrepreneurship Training in GST Profession” The objective of this Course is to provide knowledge of practical aspects of GST to the students and make them JOB GIVERS instead of JOB SEEKERS.
In this regard, Prof. Shankar Narayana Rao, Director, EduElevate addressed the students of Sarada Vilas College on 10th June 2022 on the scope and opportunities in GST profession. He narrated the steps to be fulfilled to register as a GST Practitioner. He also explained in detail various functions and duties of a GST Practitioner.
Mr. Karthik Kumar, Managing Director, EduElevate made the program more interesting by illustrating the examples of various famous personalities. He invited the students whose parents are entrepreneurs. 6 students shared the experience of their parents regarding entrepreneurship. It is this type of involvement of activity of students in the program that motivates others to become entrepreneurs. 185 students out of 202 present in the program have shown interest to pursue GST profession as their career.
Dr. Devika, Principal of the College explained the need of students to develop entrepreneurial skills and become GST Practitioners. Dr. Sathyanarayana, Dean, Dept of Commerce & Management delivered key note address and explained the need of pursuing professional courses in developing a student’s career. Dr. Jyothi A.N – HoD, MR. Nagendra P, Smt. Asha K.C, Mr. Puneeth V, Mr. Mahendra B.S, Mr. Rajkingse S.N., Mr. Chethn B., Mr. Mallikarjun Aradhya H.N., Smt. Chaitra H.V., Smt. Sowmya M.A., Smt. Pragathi, Smt. Pragati, Smt. Suroop and other faculty members of the Department of Commerce & Management and many non-teaching staff were present in the program.
