Orientation Program on Entrepreneurship in GST Profession at SBRR Mahajan First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysuru (Autonomous College with potential for Excellence and Accredited A Grade by NAAC)

EduElevate organised an Orientation Programme on Entrepreneurship in GST Profession for the students of Final Year B.Com and BBA of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysore, on 7th June 2022 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in association with the Department of Commerce and Management of the College. SBRR Mahajana First Grade College is a College with Potential for Excellence accredited A Grade by N.A.A.C. and affiliated to University of Mysore. The college was founded in 1982 as a women’s college offering many Under Graduate Courses.

EduElevate aspires to inculcate Entrepreneurial skills among the student community in the subjects which are being studied by them in their career of higher education.  One of the most important objectives of the EduElevate is to make the students JOB GIVERS instead of JOB SEEKERS.

The GST has been introduced on 1st July 2017 by the Central Government and it brings many changes in the taxpayer arena. The education and employment process has been shifted to the online platform. Nowadays, our livelihood depends on being online eventually. Our country is becoming more and more competitive and recreational in every field.  Entrepreneurship in GST Practitioner Course emerges as a new and appealing career opportunity for many graduates and post graduates in Commerce, Management and Law. A GST Practitioner is a tax professional who has been authorized by the central government and state government to perform the primary activities such as filling fresh registration applications, filling applications for amending or canceling the registration, and furnishing information on behalf of the taxpayer, to the government.

In this regard, Prof. Shankar Narayana Rao, Director, EduElevate explained the steps involved to become an entrepreneur.  He delivered a detailed lecture on the eligibility criteria, qualification required and the procedure for registering a person as a GST Practitioner.  Students were also enlightened about the scope, role, responsibilities and the earning ability of the GST Practitioners. As many as 68 students out of 154 attended the program have shown interest in becoming entrepreneurs GST Profession.  

Mr. Karthik Kumar, Managing Director, EduElevate, explained the challenges faced by entrepreneurs.  He took the live examples from among the students present and made the presentation more live and interesting which gave boost to the students to become entrepreneurs.

Capt. Nikil Ramesh introduced the chief guests to the audience.  Dr. Jayakumari, Principal presided over the function.
